On 12th January 2019, Saturday, sports club of Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli had organized trekking to Lohagad fort, Lonavala. Students from class III to VIII gave huge response for the trek.
On 12th January, 2019 morning all the sports club students and the teachers assembled in the school premises at 7:00 am and all the students’ attendance were taken by the teachers. Bus departed from the school at 7:30 am and arrived at Lohagad trekking point at 11:30 am.
All the students along with the teachers and the experts started the trek to Lohagad fort. Around 2 pm everyone reached the top of the fort and enjoyed the beautiful nature from the top. The experts gave information about the fort to everyone. They explained why that fort was named as “ Lohagad” what was its special qualities? How the great “Maratha Warriors” defended themselves. Students liked and enjoyed it. All the students and the teachers had lunch in an open area near the cave on the top of the fort. Thereafter around 3 pm everyone started to return to the base-point. Around 4:30 pm everyone reached the base point and the bus left by 5 pm from the base point, students were given light snacks in the bus and everyone reached school at 7:00 pm.
Each and every student enjoyed a lot and everyone was happy with the trek and all were ready to come in the next trek.
