On 21st June 2024, Carmel Convent High School celebrated International Yoga Day. This worldwide movement recognises the ancient Indian art of yoga and its significant effects on our mental, physical and spiritual well-being. The school organised a plethora of activities for students of all ages ranging from Asanas ,Pranayam to Suryanamaskar. The students stretched their arms, bent their legs, rolled their neck and twisted every sinew in their body with greater dexterity. Students were made to perform Vrikshasana, Parvatasana, Padmasana, Vajrasana, Surya Namaskar to name a few. Students were told the benefits of yoga by the teachers and were given instructions throughout the yoga session. The celebration concluded with some breathing techniques and the students were encouraged to practice yoga regularly to remain fit as spirited performance. Overall, Yoga day was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
