ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION
The Environment Day celebration was organized by the Science Club of the school on 5th July 2024. The main aim of the event was to increase awareness among the students regarding the importance of the environment and the need to protect it. The students of Std. V – X participated in the Program. Sister Mathilda Madtha A.C, Ex. vice Principal of Carmel College Goa, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Program commenced with a Prayer Service followed by a prayer dance. One of the EPC club member delivered a speech on the need of Environment Protection, another recited a poem and a song was sung by a group of students on environment.
The highlight of the Program was a skit on the theme for World Environment Day 2024 “Land restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilence”. The Chief guest Sister Mathilda acquainted our students on what role the environment plays and why it is important for people to take initiatives to save the environment. Then, as a special drive for Environment Day, tree plantation was done in our school and neighbouring society garden by our Chief Guest, Principal, and by the Staff and members of the Environment Club. The students promised to take up the responsibility to look after and nurture these saplings. Charts and posters on World Environment Day prepared by the students were displayed in the school premises. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks.
