Like every year, this year, all the students and faculty members of our Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli organized a grand program on the occasion of 75th Republic Day. Everyone was feeling very happy that day because its was a matter of great pride for all of us because on 26th January 1950, the constitution of India came into force and our country, India became a republic.
Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp. There was a huge gathering of staff, students and parents at the school ground. Students came wearing neat and tidy P.T. uniforms.
The program started with flag hoisting. The National Flag was hoisted at 8:00 am by the Sub. Inspector Ashok Deobha Jadhav who was the chief guest followed by the National Anthem. Then the Headboy took permission from the Chief Guest for the March Past of all the four squads Asha, Pragati, Preeti and Vidhya and the school band. Since it was a competition we had Sr. Elita our manager and Mrs. Treeza our school co-ordinator to judge our different squads.
In the spirit of enlightenment, we illuminated the lamp a symbol of knoweldge dispelling darkness and signifying the values that guide our democratic republic.This was followed by prayer dance, prayer service, thought provoking skit, skating display,drill,patriotic dances and songs by the students of Std 1st ,3rd , 7th and 8th.
Our chief guest gave a motivated speech.Sports competition were an attraction of this year’s celebrations. Winners were awarded certificates and trophies. Prizes were distributed by the chief guest and our principal Sr. Sushmita.
In the end the program was concluded by singing Vandemataram and distributing sweets to all the students.
